My dear Lord Stratford
The event which will remove from the Foreign Office to that of my Department before long the arbitrament of affairs between Turkey and Russia is of course making me exert every nerve to meet it.
We have just learnt from one of your despatches that we can buy good horses in Turkey, & I therefore send out tonight Captn. Nolan & a Military Vety. Surgeon to purchase at once 1000 horses & probably more eventually.
Permit me to commend Captn. Nolan to your good offices and valuable aid in the performance of this duty.
Not time for another word.
Yours ever sincerely
Newcastle
